How do I pay the rent?

You pay the first month’s rent directly here on LeVisual by credit card. This credit card is also used to pay the monthly rent. This happens automatically and without further effort for you. You will receive an e-mail confirming the rental payment. You can always change your credit card information in your profile.

Are my credit card details safe with you?

Upon conclusion of a rental, your credit card details are encrypted (HTTPS encryption) and sent to our payment service provider «Stripe». Stripe is one of the world’s largest providers of credit card payments in online shops and is considered very safe. At LeVisual, we do not have access to your credit card details at any time, even if we wanted to.

Will I get the deposit back?

The deposit is only for the safety of artists who rent their sometimes expensive works of art and thus take a greater risk. We are obliged that after the rental and when the artwork has returned to the artist, you will receive the deposit immediately and fully back to your credit card – or, if desired, via bank transfer. We take that very seriously.

The deposit will only be fully or partially retained in case of damage to the artwork or loss.

When buying an artwork, the deposit will be deducted from the purchase price.

Can I pay the rent by invoice?

No, we currently only accept rental payments by credit card. We do not currently support other payment options for the rent. When purchasing a work of art, however, the payment of the purchase price can be made by deposit or bank transfer.

Do I get a written rental contract?

Once you have completed a rental here online, you have entered into a rental contract with the artist. An additional dispatch of printed contracts does not take place.

How do I hang up the artwork?

This is not as complicated as you might think. Take a look at this article (German), where we described it in more detail.

What happens if I accidentally damage the artwork?

Please contact us immediately and document the damage with photos. We then find a solution together with the artist. Basically, you are responsible for the condition of the artwork during the rental and are also liable for damages. It is therefore advisable to have a liability insurance.

Can the artist ask for his work back?

We assume that this occurs only in exceptional cases. Nevertheless, the artist may unilaterally terminate the rent of his property towards the end of a rental month – e.g. when the artist plans an exhibition. We will inform you in this case and coordinate the transportation of the artwork.

Can I rent several works at the same time?

Yes this is not a problem. Simply make another rental as a separate order here online.

How can I cancel the rental?

You can just cancel the rent in your user account here on LeVisual or write us a short message. Once the rental month has expired, we arrange for the return of the artwork or ask you to send back the artwork. Please cancel the rental at least 3 working days before your next rental payment.

I received the artwork much later than the first rent payment ...

It may happen that the transport of the artwork may take a little bit longer after the rental has been completed. But since your rent is already running, it would be unfair if you had to return the artwork directly to the end of the rental month at the end of the rental. Therefore, it is perfectly fine if the artwork is sent back a few days later when finished, so you can, for example at a 3-month rent, enjoy the artwork exactly 3 months at home.

How do I get artworks larger than 45x45cm?

We make sure together with the artists and shipping partners that the artworks are sufficiently well packed and protected and arrive safely.

Normally, a freight forwarder will simply contact you and arrange an appropriate time for delivery with you. The transportation company can offer delivery times Mo-Fri from 7 am to 7 pm and Saturdays from 7 am to 5 pm. Please understand that we have to pass on the costs of such an individual and complex transport in part. However, it is important to us that the artworks, some of which are very expensive, are carefully sent to you and that you do not have to transport larger works home from a post office.

Which shipping company do you work with?

Currently we rely on the so-called «Transport Service» of Swiss Post. You can find more information here: https://transport-service.post.ch/

However, we reserve the right to cooperate with other transport companies in individual cases.

How do I get artwork smaller than 45x45cm?

Smaller artworks are usually sent by normal – but with «fragile» marked – parcel post well packaged by the artist and you receive the package like at other online stores delivered. The shipping costs are correspondingly lower for you with such artworks. You have to confirm receipt of the package by signature – we want to avoid that the artwork is simply stored in the hallway.

What happens if I get a damaged artwork?

Please contact us immediately and document the damage with photos. We take care of everything else and will surely find a good solution together.

How do I send back a large pieces of art (> 45x45cm)?

Please stop the rent in your user account or by a short message to us. We then commission a freight forwarder who picks up the artwork for you free of charge. The shipping company will contact you to identify a pickup time. The freight forwarder can offer pick-up times Mo-Fri from 7 am to 7 pm and Saturdays from 7 am to 5 pm. Please pack the artwork safely back in the original packaging, it must be packed in any case safe for transport. The return shipment is free for you.

How do I send back a small artwork (<45x45cm)?

Works of art, which arrived with normal post mail to you, can be sent also by normal «fragile» post. Please repack the artwork in the original packaging and hand it in to Swiss Post as «PostPac Economy» with the additional services «fragile» and «Signature». The shipping address and all details will be communicated to you by e-mail.
In this case, we will refund the shipping costs as credit to your credit card, after the artwork has returned to the artist. Just send us the receipt by photo after sending (Whatsapp or mail). Also a refund by bank transfer is possible.

What happens if the artwork arrives damaged at the artist?

The artist will document the damage and together we will find – depending on the individual case – a good solution together with the post office or forwarding company.

How do I buy a rented artwork?

Write us a short message that you want to buy the artwork. The purchase price you see in the description of the artwork. One month’s rent and the deposit we take into account on the fixed purchase price. The remaining purchase price can be made by bank transfer. Of course, we will immediately stop the rental payments.

A short example: You rent the artwork for a few months for CHF 50,-/month. The purchase price is CHF 1’000.-. With a monthly rent deduction and the already paid deposit of CHF 150.- you will have to pay CHF 800.- (1’000-50-150) to become the owner of the artwork.

Can I buy artworks without rent?

This is currently not possible. But: Since you get credited one month’s rent on the purchase price, you can simply rent the artwork and still buy in the same month – then you have paid exactly the purchase price, not more.

With whom do I conclude the purchase agreement?

When buying it comes to the purchase contract between the artist and you. The payment goes via LeVisual. LeVisual acts as a kind of broker and receives a commission from the artist.

How do I buy a coupon?

You can easily buy coupons for LeVisual here by credit card or by bank transfer.

How do I get the coupon?

We send the voucher physically by letter to you – or if you want directly to the recipient.

How do I redeem a coupon?

The coupon contains a coupon code. This can easily be entered after you have selected a piece of art from our catalog and clicked on «rent». In the next window, where address and payment details are entered, you can enter and apply the coupon code in the upper area. The prices then update automatically. If you have any questions or problems, feel free to contact us.

The voucher value is higher than the first month's rent + shipping ...

The voucher reduces the total basket value, including the deposit. However, after the rental you will be refunded the full deposit so that the voucher has correctly reduced your total payment at the end.

What restrictions apply to the redemption of a coupon?

None. There is no minimum order value, no expiration date or any other restrictions.
